

Emiel Van Trijffel
Biography
Emiel van Trijffel is titular ‘Advanced evidence-based clinical reasoning in manual therapy’ in the Master’s program in Manual Therapy at VUB. He is als the head of Master Education at SOMT University of Physiotherapy in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. After his clinical career in physiotherapy/manual therapy, he specialised in education and research in diagnostics, clinical reasoning, Evidence-Based Medicine, and complexity in health and disease. In 2015, he completed his PhD-thesis, entitled ‘Role and reliability of passive joint motion assessment: Towards multivariable diagnostics and decision-making in manual therapy’, at the University of Amsterdam under supervision of Professor Patrick Bossuyt, Prof. Rob Oostendorp and Prof. Cees Lucas. He currently supervises three PhD-students and participates in various research projects at EXAN-VUB, SOMT University of Physiotherapy, and with Prof. Rob Oostendorp (Radboud University, The Netherlands).
